Earlier this week, as we wrapped up The Power of the Tongue Online Bible Study series, I said that the next online Bible study wouldn't begin until Monday, April 6th and that we would take next week off.

Well, the LORD has nudged my heart to start the next study early. Times are too critical and this message must be heard.

God wants to remind us that HE IS THE GOD OF HOPE and we do not have to be desperate in these times of great trial.

We have a blessed assurance that God will continue to keep His promises over us.

In light of all that is happening in the world today as it relates to COVID-19, it can be so easy to fall into the cycle of fear and anxiety of the unknown.

Yet, God does not want us to live in the shackles of fear. God is still bigger and greater than any disease or sickness and we can still rely on His goodness and power. God has not stopped being God. We must take every negative thought captive and submit it to the obedience of Christ, as the Word says we have the power to do in 2 Corinthians 10:5.

It is our human nature to worry. When we surround ourselves with hour after hour of the media telling us why we should fear, we will only breed more fear in ourselves and in our families.

I love the epic battle depicted in 2 Chronicles 20, the last battle under King Jehoshaphat's reign. There's so much to learn from this battle, but one of my favorites is that even though they prepared themselves to fight against the great army coming against Jehoshaphat, the people DID NOT have to physically fight in this battle.

Have you ever read the story of Moses in Exodus Chapter 17 about how Israel prevailed in the war against the Amalekites? Verse 11 says, “and so it was when Moses held up his hand that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.”

Victory over the Amelikes only occurred when Moses had his hands raised high in worship. Whenever Moses let his hand down, Amalek would prevail.

Similarly, our worship can be the deciding factor on whether or not we obtain the victory over our daily battles. When we choose to honor God and praise Him despite our circumstances, we win. Today I am going to share with you one of my favorite truths about worship. Isaiah 58:1 says, “Cry aloud, spare not; Lift up your voice like a trumpet.”

In our daily lives we need to proclaim God’s truths and praise His name with confidence, like a trumpet sound of victory, truly believing that He is able to help us through any battle or season of life.

There are testimonies in the Old Testament of battles that were won when the trumpet sound was used as God called them to be used. We, too, have access to this power!

So today, I encourage you to use your voice like a trumpet sound and confidently remind the enemy of the God that we serve - the Almighty, the All Powerful God and that there is nothing impossible for Him!
