2 Minute Truths - Episode 4: Worship is Your Warfare
Welcome to Two-Minute Truths, where in 2 minutes or less, we remind ourselves of a powerful biblical truth so that we can live our days empowered by the Word of God!
In this episode, I want to remind you that your worship is your spiritual warfare against any and every situation that may be coming against you.
I love the epic battle depicted in 2 Chronicles 20, the last battle under King Jehoshaphat's reign. There's so much to learn from this battle, but one of my favorites is that even though they prepared themselves to fight against the great army coming against Jehoshaphat, the people DID NOT have to physically fight in this battle.
The king sent out a group of worshippers in front of the army and they sang, "Praise the LORD, for His mercy endures forever!"
And when they began to sing, the LORD sent ambushes against the enemy and they were defeated!
It is easy to allow our life challenges to completely overwhelm us and paralyze us with fear and anxiety. However, the answer is not to run away or wallow in our own self pity. The answer is always to seek God first, putting aside everything holding us back, and asking the LORD to guide our steps.
Once we realize that we cannot overcome the trials and tribulations of this world by our own strength and might, we learn of a better way: trusting and continuing to offer our praises to Jesus, declaring His power over our situations, taking our position as true worshipers of the Father, and then standing still and allowing Him to do what He needs to do.
