2 Minute Truths - Episode 2: Lift Up Your Hands in Victory
Welcome to Two-Minute Truths, where in 2 minutes or less, we remind ourselves of a powerful biblical truth so that we can live our days empowered by the Word of God!
Have you ever read the story of Moses in Exodus Chapter 17 about how Israel prevailed in the war against the Amalekites? Verse 11 says, “and so it was when Moses held up his hand that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.”
Victory over the Amelikes only occurred when Moses had his hands raised high in worship. Whenever Moses let his hand down, Amalek would prevail.
Let that sink in for a minute.
Similarly, our worship can be the deciding factor on whether or not we obtain the victory over our daily battles. When we choose to honor God and praise Him despite our circumstances, we win. On the contrary, when we choose to doubt, complain, or get angry with God when things are not going our way, it is the equivalent of bringing down our worshipful hands, giving up, and letting the enemy gain ground.
So I encourage you today to worship God, with hands held high in complete reliance on the One who has limitless power.
