Welcome to Two-Minute Truths, where in 2 minutes or less, we remind ourselves of a powerful biblical truth so that we can live our days empowered by the Word of God!
Have you ever felt so tired from your daily challenges, or hurting from a tough season of life that it feels almost impossible to still be joyful and thank God?
I challenge you today to embrace the concept that sometimes our praise is a sacrifice. It is not always going to be easy or even feel good to offer God our praises, but it is crucial in order to receive deliverance from the weight of life's troubles.
Psalm 116:17 says, “I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving, And will call upon the name of the LORD.”
Sometimes our worship will feel like a sacrifice because our attitudes are not always right and things may not be going the way we like or expected. But when we begin to offer God the sacrifice of thanksgiving, we quickly begin to realize that our thanksgiving gives us a fresh, new perspective on our situation.
As we thank God for His goodness in times of trial, even when we don't feel like it, or when it is literally painful to praise, we find that we are lifted and sustained by God's grace.
We trade our sorrow for His joy and blessings.
