Worship Wednesdays # 6 - I Know Who I Am & Who I Worship

Aug 26, 2020

WORSHIP WEDNESDAYS SERIES

This series is an invitation to take 15-20 minutes out of your day to simply come before the LORD in authentic and simple worship and praise.
You can expect for me to share a song that has been ministering to my soul, along with Bible verses to support the message of the song, and a few encouraging words.

So clear off your schedule for the next 20 minutes, put aside any fears or worries, and step into the Presence of God with me.

Worship Wednesdays # 6 - I Know Who I am & Who I Worship

When our feelings, worries, and concerns try to cause us to doubt God's ability to perform, we must turn our hearts to worship.

When we worship, we align ourselves with the truth found in His word. True worship is the process of coming into agreement with His character, His abilities, and our position as believers of Jesus Christ.

Despite our circumstances, we must tell the world what Jesus said in John 4:22, "We know what we worship."

We know who God is.

We've seen His glorious works.

We know the praise due His Name.

Come into agreement today with who God is and worship Him any time you need to remind your soul of the God that you serve:

🔸I agree that You are the Almighty God and that nothing is impossible for You.

🔸I agree that God, You are my refuge and my strength, my fortress in time of trouble.

🔸I agree that You, My Lord know my future and You have good plans for me.

🔸I agree that I can ask of anything in the Name of Jesus, and He will do it.

🔸I agree that God is my Heavenly Father, who loves me unconditionally, and is always ready and willing to deliver me and restore me.

In our current online Bible study series, we have also been reminding ourselves of our who WE ARE by faith by studying the Book of Ephesians.

This passage in Ephesians 2 is so powerful:

'But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.'

Ephesians 2:4-10

As a believer:

  • I am alive again in Christ.
  • I am saved by grace.
  • I am loved.
  • I am seated with Christ.
    • I share in the present day works of His kingdom power.
  • I am His workmanship.
    • The value of a masterpiece is measured by the price a buyer is willing to pay for it.
      • Jesus paid it ALL for me!
  • I am created for a purpose.
  • I am created to do good.

Aren't these amazing reasons to drop everything right now and PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME?!

This passage also reminds me of the lyrics of the Spirit-filled song, "Champion" by Bethel Music and feat Dante Bowe.

Jesus is our Champion.

He has already won the victory.

I am saved to be a carrier of His power and glory.

Therefore, I praise Him and use my worship to dispense His truth and grace into every situation and every place.

Lastly, I'll leave you with this beautiful psalm:

'I will praise You with my whole heart; Before the gods I will sing praises to You. I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name. In the day when I cried out, You answered me, And made me bold with strength in my soul. All the kings of the earth shall praise You, O Lord , When they hear the words of Your mouth. Yes, they shall sing of the ways of the Lord , For great is the glory of the Lord . Though the Lord is on high, Yet He regards the lowly; But the proud He knows from afar. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand Against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me. The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord , endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.'

Psalms 138:1-8

Saved by His Amazing Grace,
