WORSHIP WEDNESDAYS SERIES
This series will be an invitation to take 15-20 minutes out of your day to simply come before the LORD in authentic and simple worship and praise.
You can expect for me to share a song that has been ministering to my soul, along with Bible verses to support the message of the song, and a few encouraging words.
So clear off your schedule for the next 20 minutes, put aside any fears or worries, and step into the Presence of God with me.
If you've been following the Soul of Worship Ministry for any length of time then you will know that I LOVE the concept of worship being one of our spiritual weapons of defense. When we worship and praise God, God fights our battles on our behalf.
Worship is a critical strategy of spiritual warfare. Not many of us realize just how powerful our praise and worship can be.
But no more.
Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing a few Biblical examples of how God brought victory to His people, and all they had to do was praise. All they had to do was worship.
Example #1: Victory Over the Amalekites
Read it now: Exodus 17:8-16
Quick Summary: When Moses kept his hands raised high, the Israelites would win in the battle. When Moses put his hands down, Amalek would prevail. So with the help of Aaron and Hur, Moses kept his hands high in worship until the setting of the sun. Therefore, the Amalekites were defeated!
I have a ton of worship songs that I love to listen to when I need the encouragement to simply praise and worship in the presence of my enemies. The first one that I want to share with you is Jesus Culture's rendition of the song "Defender."
As you listen and meditate on this song, I encourage you to physically raise your hands. One of the Hebrew words for praise is yadah and it refers to praising God with hands lifted high. But there's also an alternate definition for yadah and that is to physically throw something or shoot an arrow.
Read that again. Do you think this is a coincidence?
I find it incredibly profound!
Remember, the enemy cannot stand the praises of God's people, and he is driven back when we learn how to move boldly in a position of praise before our God.
What if our yadah worship through our hands lifted high actually does send out spiritual arrows to fight against our enemies in the supernatural?
In the physical realm, it may look like people are just praising God. But in the unseen, arrows are being shot against our enemy when we engage in worshipful warfare.
Extending our hands high in yadah worship is a visual sign of a complete reliance on God's power and not our own.
Stretching out our hands to the heavens reflects our souls surrendering to the Savior and depending on His sovereignty.
Let the LORD fight for you, but also send some spiritual arrows into the battle with your yadah worship.
Praising with raised hands with you,
Sara-Marie
