“Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord.” — Psalm 134:2
Have you ever been in a worship service where you wanted to lift your hands… but something held you back?
Maybe it was fear. Insecurity. Or just not understanding why it even mattered.
But, can I tell you something?
There is supernatural power in the simple act of lifting your hands to God.
In Exodus 17, Moses stood on a hill as the Israelites fought the Amalekites. And scripture says that as long as his hands were raised, Israel was winning.
But when his hands dropped… the enemy started to win.
Your worship posture is connected to your spiritual victory.
Lifting your hands—what the Bible calls “Yadah” praise—isn’t just symbolic. It’s strategic.
It’s surrender, yes. But it’s also warfare.
When you raise your hands, you’re declaring:
Your lifted hands are like arrows shot into the enemy’s camp.
Worship isn’t just music—it’s your response to God. And when your response is surrender, confidence, and adoration in the middle of the battle?
The enemy can’t stand it.
So the next time you feel weak, overwhelmed, or under attack—lift your hands anyway.
Worship when you don’t feel like it. Lift your hands even if they’re trembling.
Because just like Moses, your victory might be on the other side of your raised hands.
This is exactly what I teach in Week 2 of my 12-week worship Bible study course: WORSHIP: Are You Making a Sound?
We study the Hebrew word “Yadah,” explore what Scripture says about worship posture, and activate the power of praise in your everyday life.
And the best part? You can start with a FREE preview lesson right now.
Let this be the season where you don’t just sing about victory—you lift your hands and live in it.
