'Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age; and Sarah had passed the age of childbearing. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?” And the LORD said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I surely bear a child, since I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”'
Genesis 18:11-14
How easy it is to preach faith and speak faith to others but how hard it is to apply that same faith to our own lives?
When God speaks huge things over us we get think, "Surely that was not for me. I'm too old, too young, too broken."
We easily convince ourselves it is impossible.
How easy to believe in our own strength and what we cannot do and doubt what HE can do!
Sarah, an old barren woman, literally laughed when God spoke she would have a child. She laughed, and then later took matters into her own hands when the waiting got to be too much.
But what a Good, Good Father we have that He keeps every promise! Even when we lack the faith!
You're right - you may not be equipped. You may not have the means.
It may look impossible...but is there anything too hard for the Lord?
Keep believing,
