Wow, what a Bible study we had last night!

As we dissected verse by verse of the second half of Psalm 3, we uncovered so many keys to unlocking the power of God.

The first thing we talked about last night in our Zoom discussion is found in Psalm 3:4 which says:

I cried to the Lord with my voice,

And He heard me from His holy hill.

                                                           Selah

This verse gives us a glimpse into the way that David worshiped God through prayer and praise: DAVID CRIED OUT TO THE LORD WITH HIS VOICE!

This was not a silent prayer or passive song.

David was PASSIONATELY VOCAL!

The MSG translation says, "With all my might I shout up to God..."

David let out a MIGHTY SHOUT!

With ALL HIS MIGHT!

And this moment of worship wasn't an exception.

David always worshiped God with EVERYTHING that he had.

WITH ALL...

"Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker." Psalms 95:6

In this one verse, there are 3 unique Hebrew words used to describe this invitation to worship the LORD our Maker.

worship = shâchâh = to depress, to bow down, or to fall down flat.
bow down = kâraʻ = to bend the knee; to sink, to prostrate
kneel = bârak = to bless God; to bow down and kneel in humble reverence

This verse alone is a picture of humility before Yahweh.

It is meant to inspire us as worshipers to bring ourselves low before God, not just physically bowing down but humbling ourselves before Him.

Bending down shows reverence, expresses honor, submission, and allegiance to His high authority.

We bow down because there is no greater or more powerful being and He is worthy of our complete surrender.

So come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker!

THE PSALMS - UNLOCKING THE POWER WITH PRAYER & PRAISE!

Bring about permanent and radical change to your life and daily worship through an intimate, personal relationship with God.

Since they were written, the Psalms have been a powerful source of personal inspiration and spiritual strength.

When we lack the words to say, we can often open up to the Psalms and find that the psalmists seem to relate very well to our emotional pleas and deepest thoughts. 

When we apply a psalm to our lives, often it becomes the first step towards our own deliverance. 

A song of deliverance from the Psalms can bring words that are like honey to our souls. The Holy Spirit inspired words bring comfort, strength, healing, and remind us to keep our eyes up toward our Creator. 

Let's unlock together the Holy Spirit's power through prayer and praise, by studying:

• each of the 5 unique collections that make up The Psalms,
• the anointed songwriters who wrote them
• the common...

God will either provide a way out or the grace to endure. Both are miracles.

Read that again.

Both are miracles.

Sometimes we only give God credit if He shows up in an immediate breakthrough kind of way.

Don't get me wrong.

Of course those are awesome, but let's also praise God for giving us the grace to endure long trials.

The fact that He's keeping you standing in the midst of the process is JUST as miraculous.

"And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

II Corinthians 12:9

So keep holding on to the promises of God, for they are YES and AMEN.

PODCAST SEASON 4: WORSHIP - Back to Basics

Back in December, I had an epiphany.

As I was preparing for our online Bible study, I re-read the following passage:

"Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying: “ ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.” But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”'

Luke 19:37-40

And then it hit me.

This thought just popped into my head:

Could the rise in the number of earthquakes be the rocks crying out?!

When Jesus said that the rocks would cry out, did He mean that they would actually say or sing words of...

I have good news and bad news.

Which one would you like to hear first?

The bad news? Okay.

After much prayer and deliberation, due to the rapid rise of COVID-19 cases in our area, the conference committee and Pinebrook Conference center have decided to postpone the in-person MAKE A SOUND Worship & Prayer Conference to Saturday, March 27, 2021.

Bummer, I know.

But we have already been praying and fasting for Saturday, 12/12/20 to be separated as a special day of worship and prayer for our local community and for our nation. It doesn't feel right to just do nothing on that day.
